The Yas Island track being built by Aldar in the UAE capital for the November 1s t inaugural Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - the final round of the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship – has emerged as a major visitor highlight at Arabian Travel Market 2009 – the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism event which runs at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre until Friday night.
A model of the track and the Yas Island development, which includes seven hotels Aldar is planning to open in time for the race, is on display in the Abu Dhabi pavilion and captured the attention of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates airline who opened the show.
After receiving a project brief from Ahmed Hussein, Deputy Director General, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Paul Bell of Aldar Hospitality, Sheikh Ahmed commented: “I look forward to seeing the action on November 1.”
