Abu Dhabi Universiity (ADU), set to launch a new campus in Dubai with the start of the upcoming fall semester, continues attracting students of diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds in preparation for the 2017-2018 academic year.
UAE nationals constituted 49% of the total number of students enrolled at ADU's Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses during the 2016-2017 academic year. Students who hail from Arab countries all across the Middle East accounted for 32%, and another six percent of students represented several countries in South Asia, while the remaining 13% comprised a variety of other nationalities from all across the globe.
Dr. Waqar Ahmad, Abu Dhabi University's Provost said: With its focus on empowering Emirati talent across all sectors, particularly education, Abu Dhabi government's strategic vision highlights the importance of international cooperation for sustainable development on a local and global scale. Universities play a vital role in supporting this concept through opening their doors to students of various nationalities, and promoting the dissemination of knowledge through an intellectual and cultural exchange.
He added: DU'' integrated infrastructure complements its internationally benchmarked academic portfolio to provide an outstanding educational environment for students from the UAE and abroad. Committed to the values of diversity, equality, tolerance, and respect for other cultures, the University instills a sense of belonging among its students regardless of nationality and invests in their success. In this respect, our academic community reflects the greater UAE community that embraces the same values.
As part of its drive to enhance the accommodation options available to ADU''s students, the University has recently completed its student dormitory extension, adding 93 high quality units to our extensive existing provision.
Abu Dhabi University campuses are home to a wide range of fully equipped classrooms and high-tech laboratories, in addition to a wide range of health, recreation, and sports amenities. A new building has been added to the teaching facilities at the Abu Dhabi Campus, creating additional world class laboratories for a variety of disciplines. Set to welcome its first batch of postgraduate students in September, ADU''s new campus in Dubai boasts state-of-the-art facilities in Dubai''s Knowledge Park.
