In association with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the prestigious annual South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) celebrated South Indian cinema across the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries under the theme of ‘Celebrating the Unity and Oneness of the South Indian Film Industries’. Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the first day of the two-day extravaganza recognised the best talent in Telegu and Kannada cinema.
Rana Daggubati, of the acclaimed Baahubali fame, welcomed the city’s South Indian diaspora before passing the baton to the hosts for the evening. In attendance were South Indian movie stars Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet, Allu Sirish, Pooja Hedge, and many more and featured special performances by Shirya Saran, Shubra Ayyappa, Rashmika Mandanna, Armaan Malik, Akhil Akkineni, Usha Uthup, Regina Cassandra, and Pooja Hegde.
The evenings award winners were selected from over 110 nominations across 22 categories, honouring the industry’s best singers, lyricists, actors, debutants and music and film directors.
