Careem, the Dubai headquartered, ride-hailing app, has today announced that Abu Dhabi customers can now pay for their trips using cash. This follows on from an announcement back in February that Careem was resuming full service in the capital with both instant and scheduled rides. Car types in Abu Dhabi are Limo (Lexus cars) and MiniVan (Toyota Previas) and the minimum fare is AED 40. Back in 2013 Saudi Arabia was the first market Careem introduced cash payment into due to the heavy cash-based economy.

As the only ride-hailing app operating in Abu Dhabi, Careem will continue to introduce new components to the service to help improve customer experience and to make Careem an affordable and reliable way to get around the city.

Careem is one of the MENA region's fastest growing, home-grown start-ups and has seen early success since its launch in 2012, expanding quickly across over 80 cities. Abu Dhabi was the second city in which Careem began offering their services and is called home to many Careem team members including co-founder Magnus Olsson.
