In the spirit of the 'Year of Giving' initiative, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa Foundation is financing 32 development projects in a number of remote Lebanese areas hosting scores of Syrian refugees.
Ahmed Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, who was accompanied by Mou'een el-Meherbi, Representative of the Lebanese Prime Minister and State Minister for Refugees Affairs, opened several projects during a visit made to the districts of Danniyeh, Minieh and Akkar.
He was also accompanied by Mussalam Al Mansouri, Director of the Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache, senior Lebanese officials and dignitaries.
The delegation stopped at the village of Kfar Selouane and laid the foundation stone for an artesian well, which will be dug to address the water shortage.
Ambassador Al Shamsi said the development projects stand as a testimony to the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the UAE and Lebanon and are in line with the 'Year of Giving' initiative, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
