Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) present the fourth edition of the ADEC Students Showcase at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. From 14th to 20th May, this joint exhibition aims to promote creativity and artistic innovation as well as inspire young, talented students from across the United Arab Emirates.
The ADEC Students Showcase is the latest milestone of the joint TCA Abu Dhabi and ADEC ‘Talent Development Programme’ initiative launched by HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, which aims to identify the talent of the future to fulfil the joint objectives of developing artistic capital in the emirate
The artworks’ exhibition highlights the cultural and aesthetic diversity of cultural heritage through a collection of more than 1000 art pieces, created during the first and second visual arts workshops of the Abu Dhabi Education Council. The students’ artworks are inspired by elements of Abu Dhabi’s cultural heritage; from the historic sites of Al Ain, to the historic forts of Liwa to the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s exhibition - The Creative Act: Performance, Process, Presence. art workshops will be organized in parallel of the exhibition and will be aligned with the Abu Dhabi Education Council art education curriculum.
HE Saif Saeed Ghobash, Director General TCA Abu Dhabi, stated: “By exhibiting the artworks of students, we aim to nurture the student’s artistic talents and encourage them to develop their passion in arts. Our role is to support them in developing their competencies and understanding their cultural heritage in order for them to be proud of their culture and to preserve it and promote it through the language of arts”.
The artworks showcase provides an opportunity to discover promising talent, and serves to foster positive attitudes towards the status of art and its place within the cultural and social fabric of the United Arab Emirates.
