Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) is currently developing its Higher Education Strategic Plan that aims to promote the level of graduates in accordance with the highest international standards, under the prudent leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, Director General of ADEC, said that the the Plan is a reflection of the Abu Dhabi Government Economic Vision 2030 and the wise vision of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of ADEC, to achieve a quality progress in several economic sectors including industry, health, tourism, aviation, etc., so that Abu Dhabi could be among the best world-class governments.
He added that ADEC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Executive Council General Secretariat, New York University, Paris-Sorbonne, Oxford University, INSEAD, Imperial College and other local higher education institutions, universities and prestigious companies (ADNOC, MUBADALA, MASDAR, ADWEA, etc) has started to implement a comprehensive plan aiming to assess the higher education current status.
A two-day workshop was conducted in Shangri La Hotel-Abu Dhabi to discuss and determine the HE strategies required to be adopted.
He emphasized the keenness of ADEC to adopt and implement comprehensive and integrated strategies that would ensure progress of the whole education sector in Abu Dhabi to include schools and higher education institutions.
"ADEC is eager to prepare graduates to be highly qualified scientists, researchers and specialists through offering new Master and Doctoral Degree Programs based on the best international practices and global knowledge experiences", he added.
A task force comprised of well-known international experts and scientists will develop a strategy and submit its recommendations during the few coming weeks.
