Alexis Tsipras, Prime Minister of Greece, and his wife, accompanied by Sultan Mohammad Majid Ali, UAE Ambassador to Greece, visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi as part of his official visit to the state.

Upon arrival at the mosque, Tsipras visited the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, where he recalled the qualities and values of Sheikh Zayed that contributed to promotion of the culture of tolerance, coexistence and peace among different peoples of the world.

He also toured the mosque, where he acquainted himself with the aesthetic Islamic architecture manifested clearly in all corners of this great edifice.

At the end of the tour, Yousef Al Obaidly, Director- General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, presented to the Greek Prime Minister a copy of the book "Spaces of Light," a version of the centre, which includes many of the winning photos from the Spaces of Light Photography Award, organised by the centre annually to celebrate the unique architectural aesthetic images of the mosque.
