Organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) officially kicks off tomorrow at its two locations, Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi and the Al Ain Zoo in Al Ain. Taking place from 17th-26th November, the Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2016 will be offering 20% more exciting science activies as ever before. ADSF is designed to spark the imagination of UAE youth in science and technology subjects, supporting the strategic initiatives of the leadership of the UAE.
Science festivals are a global-best practice format of science engagement and ADSF has attracted more than 600,000 visitors over the past five years. Offering world-class science activities from leading local and international partners, ADSF hosts exciting local content that has been specifically designed for UAE audiences and adds cultural relevance to the festival.
Offering the whole family a extraordinary experience and a fun day out, ADSF will also host a number of organized school trips, offering an in-depth educational experience. More than 900 higher education students will be supporting the event, including ADSF alumni, who are locally recruited and trained as science communicators by world-class experts to deliver workshops and shows in a lively and engaging manner.
The Festival fee at Umm Al Emarat Park will be AED 5 for adults 16 years and above, AED 10 for children over 4 years and free for children 4 years and below, including the park entrance fee. The Festival in Al Ain Zoo is free to attend with only the entrance fee to Al Ain zoo charges.
