As the UAE- China bilateral trade is expected to hit a whooping $80 billion in the next two years, the China Trade Week UAE, now in its fourth year, is expected to play a key role in boosting trade relations between the two nations.
Set to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) from 5th– 7thDecembber 2016, this year's event aims to be even bigger and better, with 300 exhibitors displaying over 1,000 high-quality Chinese products throughout the three-day event.
Key sectors represented at China Trade Week UAE include toys and gifts, print, packaging and plastic, power and energy, lighting, construction materials, arts & crafts, machinery, home electronics, smart electronics, stylish fashion accessories, textiles, food and beverage, and lifestyle products.
China is ranked as Dubai's largest, and the UAE's biggest trading partner. Supported by The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the UAE Ministry of Economy, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, the annual China Trade Week UAE is organised by MIE Events DMCC a professional Exhibition, Trading and Consulting organisation.
Managing Director of MIE Groups Ltd., David Wang says that the UAE is a key trade hub for China as it provides an important regional base for over 4,200 Chinese companies and private businesses, and also allows Gulf companies the opportunity to invest and market their services.
'The bilateral relationship between China and UAE has steadily grown year on year. In recent years, trade with China has increased by around 14% annually and we are confident this will continue to grow at a steady pace,'he says.
Chinese companies are equally interested in coming to the UAE to make business connections and develop core relations and beneficial trade agreements' comments Wang.
China Trade Week launched in 2013 with just 70 exhibitors. The annual event has grown in leaps and bounds, and now attracts over 4,500 visitors over the three-day period. It provides a unique opportunity for local business communities to meet various Chinese manufacturers who offer high-quality, competitively priced products.
Wang also suggests that the potential for businesses to develop trade relations and negotiate commercial cooperations at China Trade Week is rife.
In December last year, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces visited China to meet with President Xi Jinping.Â
Wang adds,'During his trip, many agreements were signed to solidify bilateral ties across various sectors, ensuring that the future of trade between the two countries continues to grow. We have been fortunate to gain support from the local government for this event to assist Chinese and local companies to come together and create long-term business partnerships.'
Chinese and local partners will also present everyday sessions on how to efficiently source products from China and how to do business with Chinese people.
