Yas Marina Circuit and leading eSports operator Power League Gaming (PLG), have partnered up to host a series of major eSports events, with more planned to roll out in the next 12 months.
On Thursday 20thOctober, Yas Events Centre will open its doors for the regional launch of the long-anticipated and latest iteration of '˜Battlefield 1' from Electronic Arts, with 32 gamers going head to head during an exclusive event.
The invite-only regional game launch will be live-streamed around the world on the official Electronic Arts YouTube channel, and is the latest high-profile gaming event to have taken place at Yas Events Centre, following the recent launch of EA Sports FIFA 17 and the Red Bull Player One tournament at the Circuit.
A rapidly expanding sector in the Middle East, the popularity of eSports is set to grow in the next few years, and thanks to its agreement with leading operator Power League Gaming to host professional Grand Slam tournaments during 2017 and beyond, Yas Marina Circuit will be the home of eSports in the region, cementing its position as 'The Meeting Place of Champions'.
Next year, Yas Events Centre will play host to a number of high-profile gaming events. Among other scheduled activities, both Activision's Call of Duty World League (CWL), EA Sports FIFA franchise and PLG Grand Slam events will be held at Yas Marina Circuit, further underlining the venue's importance in the world of eSports and helping to develop talent in the region.
Yas Events Centre's continual investment in excellence means it's the ideal venue for hosting large-scale productions and technologically demanding events with more than 34,000 m2of flexible, indoor meeting space as well as 200 acres of outdoor area. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced IT capability includes high-speed internet streaming and three giant ultra-high definition (UHD) screens that can display images in true '4K' resolution.
