Khalifa bin Salem Al Mansouri, Acting Under-Secretary of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, is leading a delegation to Shanghai, China, to bolster economic cooperation in trade, industry, investment, exchange of information and mutual coordination between the two cities.
Al Mansouri said that the visit comes as a result of last year’s historic visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to China, which resulted in an agreement between Abu Dhabi and China.
"The visit of Abu Dhabi’s delegation will allow Abu Dhabi delegation to get acquainted with Shanghai’s economic landscape and available investment opportunities and exchange information to build a common investment base between the two sides in the various sectors highlighted in Abu Dhabi Plan, within the framework and objectives of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030," Al Mansouri added.
The Abu Dhabi delegation consists of Saeed Eisa Al Khyeli, Director-General of the Higher Corporation of Specialised Economic Zones, ZonezCorp, Mania Almulla, CEO of Khalifa Industrial Zone, Kizad, and Faris Al Marzouqi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Trains company, along with representatives of investment companies .
The delegation will meet senior officials from the Shanghai government and discuss ways of promoting economic ties and investment between Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. It will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster and widen economic cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and technology transfer.
The Abu Dhabi delegation will also visit Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone to get acquainted with major companies and investments. They will participate in a financial conference with representatives of Chongqing municipality, and will meet representatives of the local business sector and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The conference is being held in coordination with Abu Dhabi Global Market to discuss trade opportunities and areas of mutual cooperation.
