Yas Mall, the leading destination for shopping, dining and entertainment, will host a series of stellar celebrations in honour of Chinese New Year this February to delight and engage local communities and tourists from across the region. The event, which will be inaugurated by the Chang Hua, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, will showcase the rich Chinese heritage through a variety of activities planned in celebration of the Year of the Monkey.
This family-focused event, taking place from 4-8th February, will feature a fantastic line-up of performances for visitors of all ages to enjoy, including the UAE’s first Lion Pole Dance performed by skilled traditional dancers. The mall will also feature stunning lantern decorations and an authentic Chinese garden with a beautiful Tree of Wealth, which mimics the Cherry Blossom tree plant believed to bring good fortune (Feng Shui) in China. Visitors can enjoy a unique shopping experience through the mall’s special ‘shop and win’ activation, where they can win exciting prizes from various retailers upon spending AED300, with a chance to win a grand prize worth AED10,000. The mall will also host an exclusive and interactive Facebook and Instagram competitions to engage shoppers and provide them with a chance to win more exclusive experiences throughout the weekend.

To provide everyone with the true Chinese New Year experience, the daily line up of performances will also include Kung Fu workshops and acrobatic shows, whilst music lovers can enjoy Chinese drummers in Town Square. The mall will be decorated with red lanterns believed to bring good fortune and wealth, whilst the Chinese Archway and monkey-themed photo-booth both provide the ideal photo opportunity, welcoming visitors to capture this special occasion with a family photo.
Inviting visitors to learn more about Chinese culture, there will also be Calligraphy and lantern-making stations, so that guests can take a handmade token home. Yas Mall will also offer special workshops for children, to ensure that the whole family remains entertained throughout the whole weekend.
