India’s brightest stars are set to enthral, indulge and serenade adoring fans in Abu Dhabi from 12-13 August 2016 for ‘Bollywood in the Capital’, a musical extravaganza exclusive to Abu Dhabi Summer Season.

Fan favourites Vishal-Shekhar, Farhan Akhtar and musical trio Shankar, Ehsan and Loy will grace the du Forum stage on Yas Island in a trifecta of performances brought to the capital by FLASH Entertainment in association with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). Vishal-Shekhar will team up with Farhan Akhtar for a blockbuster night on August 12th, while Shankar, Ehsan and Loy will dazzle crowds on August 13th in a doubleheader celebration ahead of Indian Independence Day.

Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani – singers, lyricists, composers and music directors by trade – are set to perform their golden collection of past and present hits for the first time in the Middle East. The duo boast an impeccable list of films on their shared resume, including Jhankaar Beats (2003), Dostana (2008) and Happy New Year (2014). With three brand-new soundtracks in the pipeline this year alone, the award-winning Vishal-Shekhar are thrilled to entertain an electric du Forum audience for ‘Bollywood in the Capital’.

Also set to join the duo on August 12th is heralded Indian multi-talented film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, playback singer, lyricist and television host Farhan Akhtar, whose career is glittered with on-screen gold that includes directing credits for Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and the high-grossing Don 2 (2011), as well as acting credits for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013). Award-winning Akhtar, who is back in the region after three years, will keep fans on their feet for an upbeat performance that will feature the newest songs and numbers from his latest releases.

Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa (Saturday, August 13)

August 13th will feature a blockbuster performance from India’s adored musical trio of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, who are set to perform both all-new hits and their platinum classics in Abu Dhabi for the first time in the Middle East.

From debuting with Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and blazing trails through the industry after the record-breaking Kal Ho Naa Ho (2005), the trio are widely regarded as one of India’s gems with more than 20 awards and 50 soundtracks to show for their efforts. Their impressive back catalogue includes over 50 soundtracks including music for the record-breaking box office hit, My name is Khan, which premiered in Abu Dhabi in 2010.
