ENEC CEO, Mohamed Al Hammadi and senior officials to host forums to highlight the importance of nuclear energy and the progress being made at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant
Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) will host public forums at Baynounah Institute of Science and Technology, in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region on Monday 16th May, and at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 18th May. The forums will be staged next week as part of ENEC’s ongoing commitment to community engagement which focuses on raising awareness and understanding of the UAE’s peaceful nuclear energy program as well as providing updates on the progress being made at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.
ENEC’s CEO, Mohamed Al Hammadi, as well as members of the senior leadership team, will present the latest project updates and next steps to attendees from the Western Region and Abu Dhabi. The presentations will highlight the importance of nuclear energy as a safe, clean, reliable and efficient source of electricity and its vital contribution to the long-term growth of the UAE. The Forum will be conducted in Arabic only in the Western Region. However, simultaneous translation in English will be available for the Forum in Abu Dhabi.
ENEC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Al Hammadi, said: “Our past forums have allowed us to openly engage and closely interact with residents who want to learn more about nuclear energy and keep up with progress being made at the UAE’s first nuclear energy plant in Barakah. The plant is being built to the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency and these forums provide us with the opportunity to highlight the benefits of safe, clean, reliable and efficient nuclear energy.”
“It’s important to ENEC, as the key entity in the UAE peaceful nuclear energy program, to interact with the people who will be living in close proximity to the Barakah plant and to ensure they have all their questions answered. Nuclear energy will contribute a large amount of electricity to power the growth of industries and business, as well as providing vital electricity to homes and services, and providing highly-skilled local jobs for the long-term benefit of the nation,” added Al Hammadi.
