Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) hosted a sports day for its employees on May 1, 2016 at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The key highlight of the annual event was a cycling competition that drew the participation of His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD as well as several ADFD staff and their families.
Fatima Mohammed Al Balooshi, Manager, Media & Communications at ADFD, said: “Abu Dhabi Fund for Development marks this annual sports day for its employees as part of its priority to strengthen communication and camaraderie among its staff. We have found that the event generates a positive atmosphere that stimulates creativity, infuses new energy and develops a spirit of collaboration away from the workplace routine".
Al Balooshi added: “Hosting regular activities such as the sports day are in line with the directives of His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, and aim to encourage employees to participate in activities that enhance their skills and enable them to communicate effectively.”
Al Balooshi highlighted the various health benefits of sports in general and cycling in particular in improving the fitness levels of employees and helping them maintain a healthy lifestyle.
ADFD organizes a series of activities and competitions throughout the year in a bid to spread awareness among its staff on the importance of sport and its positive impact on health and fitness. Such activities are aligned with ADFD’s wider vision to promote the culture of volunteering and social cohesion among all segments of society.
