The opening of Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi in May 2016 will be center stage for Al Maryah Island at this year's Arabian Travel Market. The imminent arrival of the first Four Seasons Hotel in the capital will further expand the world-class hospitality offering on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi's business and lifestyle destination, master planned by Mubadala .
The five-star luxury hotel will offer expansive views of the city skyline and Arabian Gulf and include 200 light-filled guest rooms, 38 suites, as well as residential properties for exclusive luxury living. The hotel will have six food and beverage offerings including Café Milano, the sister location of the award-winning Washington, DC restaurant, and the first outside of the United States. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy impressive 'wellbeing' facilities at the hotel , including a spa, two fitness centers and an outdoor swimming pool. More services and amenities will be available, including ballrooms and meeting rooms.

Mubadala , which is helping drive the growth of Abu Dhabi's retail, healthcare, finance and hospitality sectors through its development of Al Maryah Island, will also showcase the impressive progress made by the established and upcoming developments on the island. These include the five-star hotel, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, the luxury shopping and dining destination, The Galleria, and the mixed-use development and super-regional shopping center, Al Maryah Central.
Expected to open in 2018, the first phase of Al Maryah Central's development will include a 2.3 million square foot shopping center anchored by Macy's and Bloomingdale's department stores. Further phases of development are set for completion by 2019 and will deliver two integrated towers, one which will include a hotel and serviced apartments and another which will offer luxury residences.
Existing developments on Al Maryah Island have already attracted global recognition. Since it opened in 2013, Rosewood Abu Dhabi has attained several global travel awards. In the last year alone, the five-star luxury hotel has won Abu Dhabi's 'Leading Luxury Suites and Residences' and 'Leading Lifestyle Hotel' awards at the World Travel Awards and 'Best Resort Hotel' at the Abu Dhabi Awards. This year, the hotel opened a new facility for guests to enjoy, The Manor Club, which is an executive lounge designed in a sophisticated, residential style.
The first of its kind, luxury shopping and dining destination, The Galleria, has also seen its share of international honors. Since opening in 2013, the mall has won 'Best International Retail and Leisure Destination' at the Global Retail Leisure International Awards and 'GCC Hospitality and Leisure Project of the Year' at the Middle East Architect Magazine Awards.
In addition, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, which is part of Mubadala 's network of world-class healthcare providers, has seen considerable success since it opened last year. The multispecialty hospital, which is designed to address a range of complex and critical care requirements unique to the Abu Dhabi population, has already successfully completed more than 5,500 surgeries and procedures. It has also attracted patients from 45 countries, thereby boosting the Abu Dhabi's medical tourism sector.
Al Maryah Island is also known for organizing exciting cultural and community events for the Abu Dhabi community. Annual events include National Day and New Year's Eve and amongst many others. National Day celebrations held in December last year saw thousands of visitors enjoy a host of traditional and family-oriented activities which showcased the rich heritage of the UAE. The following New Year's Eve event resulted in 10,000 visitors descending to the island to enjoy a variety of entertainment, late night shopping, delicious dining, and family fun, which culminated in a dazzling firework display.
