Al Raha Beach Hotel, the luxury beachfront hotel in the heart of Abu Dhabi, went lights off in observance of Earth Hour, a worldwide initiative in battling the earth’s largest challenge, the climate change.
From 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening of March 19, Al Raha Beach Hotel switched off lights in the hotel premises including all building’s exterior light, restaurants, lobby, and reduces the amount of lighting in the hotel’s corridor. The hotel management and staff along with the hotel guests joined together in lighting candles in the hotel’s beach area where canapés and soft beverages were served.
Kamal Zayati, General Manager of Al Raha Beach Hotel said “We strongly believe in the need to put fervent attention in taking appropriate measures in the conservation of our environment. We at Al Raha Beach Hotel are taking every opportunity to raise awareness among the community and giving out our humble contribution in support of the campaign”.
Earth Hour, a worldwide campaign initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), started in 2007 to raise awareness in sustaining the ecosystem as well as protecting the earth from the effect of global warming.
