Eladio Loizaga, Minister of Foreign Relations of Paraguay has visited Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) this week to discuss the potential for greater collaboration between Paraguay and the Fund as part of the two countries’ strengthening the investment, economic and cultural ties.
As part of his VIP visit, he noted that there were a number of areas the commitment and expertise of the Fund, as one of the most significant global development benefactors, could be used to support Paraguay’s socio-economic development efforts. In particular he stated that there was scope to work closely with the Fund around health, housing, employment, energy and infrastructure development projects.
Eladio stated, ‘This has been a hugely beneficial visit to Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, an innovative organisation who really share our aims at driving development through promoting economic growth. They are an important force in international development and we are looking at options for partnering with them.’
HE Mohammed Al Suwaidi from ADFD stated, ‘It has been our pleasure to host HE Eladio Loizaga from Paraguay and we are really impressed by their current development efforts and their growth vision that really align with the areas we are currently focusing on. We look forward to exploring options with Paraguay to see how we can support them in the future.’
Eladio Loizaga went on to say that they would be returning later this year with more detailed, technical proposals around specific projects and he looked forward to working with the Fund as part of its efforts to combat poverty, especially at a time of ongoing global economic turmoil.
