Dubai Customs SSAP Forum App Goes Live
(27 December 2015)

The Smart Services Advisory Panel (SSAP) Forum application from Dubai Customs went live on https://ssap.dubaicustoms.ae, as a 24/7 smart communication channel with customers all around the world. With the initial phase of the app targeting SSAP members, it allows them to submit and exchange ideas and suggestions. They can communicate with Dubai Customs anytime and from anywhere. A dedicated work team reviews and assesses clients’ feedback and its applicability once received. The team also addresses complaints and works towards resolving them in a speedy manner.

The Executive Director of Customs Development Division at Dubai Customs and Chairman of the SSAP Juma Al Ghaith expressed Dubai Customs’ strive to engaging clients in upgrading customs services and processes. "Dubai Customs always welcomes customers’ feedback which is a great source of development. The new app displays the decisions and recommendations of the SSAP as part of DC’s open information policy to keep clients abreast of recent developments in customs processes," said Al Ghaith.

He elaborated that Dubai Customs has previously announced establishing the Smart Services Advisory Panel with 34 members from across the business community who represent the majority of DC customers. The SSAP has a mission of advancing innovation in smart service delivery, in line with DC Smart Transformation Strategy and Dubai’s future aspirations.

A meeting for SSAP members was held at Dubai Customs’ headquarters for discussing the deployment of the forum app and evaluating some of the submitted suggestions. The next-phase action plan for the panel was highlighted at the meeting.

Bader Al Kharoosi, IT Director at Dubai Customs, delivered a presentation to SSAP members about the recent smart services Dubai Customs tailored for its clients, including the clients forum which was founded based on a SSAP recommendation and expected to enhance communication between Dubai Customs and its clients, bringing mutual interests to both parties. He pointed out that the SSAP will see new smart initiatives on the horizon.

The SSAP members lauded the attention Dubai Customs pays to customers’ feedback and involvement in the decision making process.
