The Departments of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are organising this coming Tuesday the 3rd UAE Economic Outlook Forum 2016 in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to be attended by more than 350 officials from various governmental bodies in the UAE and representatives of major companies of the private sector.
Khalifa Bin Salem Al Mansoori, Acting Under-Secretary of the Department of Development Abu Dhabi said that the forum aims at highlighting the economic forecast reports which observe the economic development outlook in the UAE in general, and Abu Dhabi and Dubai in particular.
He added that the Forum comes as a result of the constructive joint cooperation and coordination between the Departments of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and Dubai with all the bodies in the field of national economy of the UAE, aiming at linking the UAE economy to the regional and international economic developments and the experiences of the world countries in the implementation of the economic diversification policy which consists in attracting direct investments in order to enhance sustainable development.
Al Mansoori also declared that the forum comes at a time where the UAE witnesses a number of achievements that enabled it to become on the top of the countries in the world in various economic, social and cultural fields. The last achievement was the world confidence in the capacity of the UAE, namely Dubai to host Expo 2020, which is considered an international recognition of the position of the economic and cultural position of the UAE on the world map.
He added that the forum highlights the role of innovation in enhancing the competitiveness in order to enhance productivity, being the main drive of competitiveness, as the assembly offers presentations and discussions that focus on the opportunities and challenges facing the economy of the United Arab Emirates in general, and Abu Dhabi and Dubai in particular, by shedding the light on the forecasts of the national economy.
From his part, Sami Al Qamzi, Director of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, said: "The wise vision of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has significantly contributed to the economy of the Emirate of Dubai to the 21st century, through the best integration into the world economy, and the constant development of skills and infrastructures in a way that meets needs of the private sector, noting that the experience of Dubai shows the importance of the wise
leadership in enhancing the reforms and structural change, which in turn enhance the economic development and growth.
"The productivity and innovation are the main drivers behind all the goals which will pave the way for the achievement of the vision of His Highness as to make Dubai, by 2021, the best place to live, work and
visit, a smart and sustainable city, a hub in the world economy, and a leading government," he added.
