High profile Emirati leaders have thrown their support behind the UAE’s first conference to address Emiratisation, to be held from 27 to 28 April, 2009 at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the inaugural Emiratisation Forum 2009: �Advancing and Retaining UAE Nationals in the Workplace’ is being run by Abu Dhabi University (ADU), in conjunction with Aim Events.
Key points of focus will include developing employee calibre, improving retention rates, maintaining a motivated workforce and managing quotas. Discussions will focus on practical strategies and feature case studies from leading UAE companies including Aldar, Sorouh and Al Futtaim.
The Forum will feature an opening address by Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak and a keynote address by Prof Lynda Gratton, a leading human resource strategist. Prof Gratton, twice named one of the world’s top management thinkers by The Times, is Professor of Management Practice at the London Business School, where she directs the school’s executive programme: Human Resource Strategy in Transforming Organisations, which is the world’s leading executive programme on organisational change.
Mr Muneeb Kazim, Manager of Strategic Planning and Performance Management in the Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council, who is a leading expert in the development of UAE policy in Emiratisation, will lead a panel of Emiratisation experts speaking during the course of the Forum.
HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of ADU, said anyone who shared the vision of the leaders of the UAE should attend the Emiratisation Forum 2009.
"To say that this is an important event which should not be missed is by no means an exaggeration," he said. "ADU is committed to supporting the development of the nation, and this forum has been specifically developed by Emiratis, for Emiratis based on extensive industry research, which shows that there is a major desire for more information and discussion on issues specific to Emiratisation, rather than nationalisation.
"The forum will have a conference format with practical workshops, as well as ongoing focus groups and network meetings that will take place throughout the year," Al Dhaheri continued. "We are also happy to have the support of a number of Emirati leaders and participating companies," he added.
