Over 6,000 Surface New Parking Bays In Abu Dhabi From Today
(8 November 2015)

 

The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi has implemented 6,598 surface parking bays for vehicles (paid and unpaid) in the city of Abu Dhabi, effective Sunday, November 8, 2015.

The move is part of DoT’s continuous efforts to provide innovative solutions for effective parking management according to the highest international standards.

Paid parking bays

Paid parking bays will be divided into 517 bays in sector (W20) located in the area between Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street from the east, Al Bateen from the west, Delma Street from the north and Shk Mohammed bin Khalifa Street from the south, and 641 bays in sector (W59-01) located in the area between Al Karamah Street from the east, Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street from the west, Rabdan Street from the north and Al Safarat Street from the south.

Unpaid parking bays

Unpaid parking bays will be located in the area between Shk Zayed Road from the east, Shk Rashid bin Saeed Street from the west, Shakhbout Bin Sultan Street from the north and Salama Bint Butti Street from the south. The unpaid parking bays will be distributed into 1737 bays in sector (E21), 393 bays in sector (E26), 114 bays in sector (E27), 969 bays in sector (E28), 1129 bays in sector (E29), 526 bays in sector (E30) and 572 bays in sector (E39).
Special needs parking bays

There will be 10 parking bays for special needs in sector (E29), two bays in sector (W20) and six bays in sector (W59-01). DoT called on people wishing to allocate a special needs parking bay to submit their applications to any of the DoT Customer Care Centers.

Mohammed Hamad bin Fahd Al Muhairi, General Manager of Parking Division, DoT, stressed that the implementation of these parking pays is part of the DoT's strategy to improve the transport infrastructure through providing effective, integrated and innovative solutions for parking management.

He urged all to communicate with DoT through available channels and offer any proposals and ideas related to upgrading this service.
