Municipal employees gathered at the headquarters of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City today to hoist the UAE flag and honour it.
Speaking on the occasion, Musbah Al Murar, acting general manager at the municipality, offered congratulations to the UAE’s wise leadership.
“This occasion coincides with the 11th anniversary of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan taking the reins of power, and he has prompted us to move forward along with the development of the UAE. His leadership had also ensured dignity and self-esteem for all citizens,” Al Murar said.
“We beam with pride as we celebrate a new era of achievements and successes, where the brave Emirati people have achieved much for their homeland. This glorious flag will be upheld by the Emirati people who believe in the federation, support their leaders and sacrifice their lives for the sake of the nation,” he added.
The official urged attendees to value the occasion and renew their allegiance and loyalty to the nation.
A number of festivities were also organised, including attendees reciting the oath of allegiance and planting hundreds of flags as a symbol of appreciation.
