As part of du Football Champions (duFC), the only platform offering young footballers the opportunity for an international football career through a unique scouting program in partnership with LaLiga, the world's strongest football league, the UAE's official youth Schools Cup and Streets Cup will kick off in the nations capital on Saturday.
duFC has officially partnered with Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) in recognition of its importance to the country's youth aspirations for football.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr and attended by His Excellency Aref Al Awani, General Secretary ADSC, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of School Operations, ADEC; Ahmad Aburahima, Senior Vice President - Government Relations, du; Abdallah Madhoun, Regional Marketing Director - Chevrolet ME; Fernando Sanz, General Director LaLiga, MENA; Michel Salgado, Director of du Football Champions; and Hussein Murad, CEO, Inspiratus, the championship organizers, as well as other officials and invited guests.
His Excellency Aref Al Awani, General Secretary Abu Dhabi Sports Council said, We applaud initiatives such as the duFC UAE Schools and Streets Cups. Football is the most popular sport in the UAE and it provides our youth with the opportunity to develop their game to world- class standards, in addition to aspiring to become professional football players. This is an initiative we should all unite around and support.
Moreover, it is fully aligned with our mission to realise the integration between sports and society in order to have ahealthy and sportive community and we are proud to support it.
H.E. Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, ADEC's Executive Director of School Operations explained that encouraging students to take part in healthy and stimulating activities such as the du Football Championship, comes in line with ADEC's mission to involve students in competitive, healthy learning environments, that help enhance their ethics and teamwork skills, while teaching them respect towards their opponents and other cultures.
ADEC is the first government entity to engage students and the community at large in different sports related activities after school hours as part of its extra-curricular program, which is offered across different community schools. As a result, a students social and leadership skills are enhanced. In addition, many students are now motivated and prepared to compete on a national and international level, added Mr. Al Dhaheri.

There is no doubt that the platform will enhance the level of youth footballers throughout the UAE, enabling them to achieve their goals.
The du Football Champions, in partnership with the strongest football league in the world, LaLiga, is the first youth football platform offering young top talents in the UAE the opportunity to earn a pro-football career on an international and national level, through a comprehensive scouting program led by LaLiga and also Michel Salgado the Cups Director and LaLiga Global Ambassador. The program includes mentoring, intensive training and competitive games with LaLiga's best youth clubs for qualifying players.

The Technical Committee of du Football Champions (duFC), also announced the official draw, format of play and group formations for UAE Schools Cup and the UAE Streets Cup Boys U16 for the 2015/2016 season kicking off on in Abu Dhabi on October 31 and in Al Ain on November 7.

In parallel to the games, there is an exciting entertainment program in place for families, friends and the community including competitions with valuable prizes, courtesy of du and Chevrolet.

Hundreds of schools and thousands of youth will compete for the Grand Prizes which include an all-expenses paid 14-day trip to Spain with LaLiga for training and competitive matches with Spain's best youth football clubs. Top players will also have the opportunity to be scouted to become professional players with one of the clubs in LaLiga.
