The Sportsman’s Arms, the brand-new gastropub that arrived on Abu Dhabi’s dining scene in September, will host the much-awaited Weekend Roasts from October 24.
Located on the first floor of the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports City, the venue will now serve carefully-prepared roasts in generous portions every Saturday and Sunday from noon until 11pm.
“At The Sportsman’s Arms, we have a fondness for cooking simple ingredients incredibly well. We welcome our guests to treat themselves to a remarkable dining experience within a traditional pub setting,” says Simon Housecroft, general manager of The Sportsman’s Arms.
The Weekend Roasts menu includes roast striploin of beef, leg of lamb, and turkey. The hearty mains of succulent meat are served with a selection of sides like sweet potato mash, cauliflower cheese, green beans, gravy, and Yorkshire pudding. The menu is priced at AED95, and AED110 for a mixed choice of meats.
An impressive array of beers, wines, exclusive Irish whiskies and just about every spirit show an equal dedication to drinks. The Sportsman’s Arms is also popular for being the only gastropub in the UAE to house Boston’s Sam Adams beer – a key part of the venue’s American roots.
“We source the best cuts of each meat for our roasts that melt in the mouth with amazing flavour,” says Ivan Sabol, head chef at The Sportsman’s Arms.
The Sportsman’s Arms transforms from a warm restaurant for a family breakfast or lunch during the day to a vibrant setting for a casual dinner and drinks with friends or colleagues in the evening.
The pre-season menu features traditional pub favourites, with a full a la carte menu coming soon, the roast is one of the new dishes being introduced during the interim period.
