Third Annual Gov HR Summit To Address Challenges Facing The HR Sector For Government And Public Sector In The Region
(21 October 2015)

The third annual Gov HR Summit is scheduled to be held from the 27th -29th October 2015 in Abu Dhabi, to address challenges facing the HR sector for government and public sector in the region.

The conference is being held under the theme of Putting people first : Driving innovation to achieve Human Excellence', and will focus on regional success stories from leading HR service partners.

The Gov HR Summit is recognised as the biggest HR event for government and public sector in the MENA region. The Human Capital function at present is under pressure to adopt new ways of working, while dealing with talent management, leadership, succession planning and other crucial factors that dictate the success of an organisation.

The challenges faced by the HR function of the public sector are considerably different from the private sector, especially in the MENA region where the strength of youth workforce is fast outpacing the count of government sector jobs. So a major focus is on developing the necessary skills for the youth through different techniques.

Conference organisers QnA International says, "The Middle East and North Africa region's spending on E-learning programs alone is projected at $560.7 million and it is obvious that the priority is on developing the talent pool with different learning programs, which is why organisations like CrossKnowledge have lapped up the opportunity to be a part of the Gov HR Summit.

The current scenario for the HR function in the Middle East and globally is all about redefining the Human Capital function. In order to facilitate this powerful change, under the tagline "Putting people first: Driving innovation to achieve Human Excellence", the 3rd Annual Gov HR Summit is bringing together leaders from all across the GCC to exchange views on the key challenges that faced human capital professionals and the means by which we can collectively arrive at solutions to tackle these challenges.

Within the Human Capital function, the time has come to restructure and add new lines of thinking while dealing with talent management, leadership, succession planning and other crucial factors that dictate the success of an organization.

With change becoming the name of the game, transformation and modernization in Human Capital is required to bring about the desired outcomes of increased efficiency and lower costs. It is imperative that the responsibility of translation of such aspirations into tangible results be placed in capable hands. Human Capital, hence, has a critical role to play, from sourcing the right talent to driving change in organizational behavior to being a strategic partner in realizing the organization's objectives.

Bringing the Human Resource function to the forefront, the Gov HR Summit will see industry experts emphasize the strategic importance of workforce development and discuss regional and international best practices on overcoming the current challenges in the industry.

Panelists will discuss papers on Empowering women in the GCC : High capability low opportunity - Developing women friendly trends in career development, Automating HR process to drive efficiency, Talent Imperatives and Solutions a GCC perspective, Innovation in HR: A look into the MENA region's HR functioning, Youth and employee engagement: Managing millennials, and Putting a plug in the talent drain: Securing leaders for the future.

A master class will revolve around ''Building Next Generation Leaders through Innovative & Entrepreneurial Leadership.'' The masterclass will be extremely interactive and lively and will feature many different helpful tools, eg. a talent identification system, case studies, videos, illustrations, questions and answers, break out groups, etc.
