At the end of IGN Convention, more than 5000 gamers, comic and pop culture enthusiasts, cosplayers and movie buffs from across the UAE visited the du Forum, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi over the two day event held on the weekend of October 16 and 17.
Fans lined up for autograph signings with Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson who portrayed the character of Joffrey Baratheon on the hit TV series.
They mingled with voice over artists Adam Harrington, the voice of Bigby Wolf in the Wolf Among Us video game, and Dave Fennoy, the voice of Lee Everett in The Walking Dead video game.
IGN’s Daily Fix host Naomi Kyle entertained the audience, answering questions and discussing her longterm
ambitions in the video gaming industry.
Dubai TV’s sports presenter Hamed Al Harthi moderated two panels on Friday, the first with Rashed Alharmoodi and Adam Khwaja discussing the Mansour Cartoon’s development process and announcing the plans to collaborate on Season 3. The second panel discussion, in Arabic featured behind the scenes footage of creating Mansour with the show’s actors, Neven Mahdi and Mansour Al Feel, discussing their roles and bringing characters to life.
Mohammed Saeed Harib provided an inspirational lecture on Lammtara’s transition from the production of the popular UAE cartoon, Freej to his latest project and the developments.
Italy’s most popular cosplayer, NadiaSK attended and judged the region’s biggest prized Cosplay Contest. Cosplay fans competed for a total of $10,000 in cash.
Celebrities and attendees enjoyed their experience on Yas Island making IGN Convention the most successful gaming and pop culture events in the Capital.
