Strong Summer Sales For Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Tickets Suggest Another Record Weekend, Announces Yas Marina Circuit
(20 September 2015)

Yas Marina Circuit today announced that demand for tickets to the 2015 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX remained strong across the summer period and expects brisk sales as the race weekend approaches.

The organisers say that already some ticket categories for The Lounge North, Abu Dhabi Hill and West Grandstand have sold out completely, with limited availability remaining across individual ticket categories in both the West Grandstand and Marina Grandstand.

With fewer than 10 weeks remaining, Yas Marina Circuit is urging racing fans to purchase their tickets sooner rather than later in order to avoid disappointment, as this year's capacity of 60,000 is well on course to sell out ahead of schedule.

As the F1 championship battles it out in Singapore this weekend, there is a three-way race for the driver's championship between Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Sebastien Vettel, and race fans are keen to see if Abu Dhabi could again potentially decide the title and mark the end of another dramatic season.

With a tagline of Go Beyondâ for 2015, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the world's only twilight race and is one of the most glamorous and exciting races in the Formula 1 calendar. Interest from fans in overseas markets is also driving demand for a variety of packages. Last year, international fans made up almost 50 per cent of the total visitor numbers and 2015's race is expected to attract a similar split.

Corporate guests have also reacted positively to this year's enhanced hospitality packages, with the all-new Marsa Suites being snapped up by eager companies as ideal networking and client entertainment options. The introduction of a celebrity chef creating a bespoke menu, with the added bonus of F1 legend Mark Webber on hand to meet and greet and explain the racing action has increased pressure on availability.

Other corporate hospitality packages – Marina Bay Suites, AAl Dhiyafah and Al Jood, as well as the Paddock Club, Trackside and Sundown Terraces – are all on course to sell out, say organisers.

Fans are also embracing the new and improved YasHUB smartphone app and are using it to plan comprehensive ticketing solutions and their perfect race weekend in detail.

Already we have reached capacity across a selection of ticket packages for the 2015 weekend, said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit. With an incredible sporting and entertainment experience that keeps improving every year, we are seeing continued strong demand from both local and international F1 fans.

This is our seventh Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and each year our reputation as one of the best racing weekends grows, driving more and more demand from people living in the region and overseas. We are delighted with the sales so far and I would urge anyone thinking of purchasing a ticket to do so before it's too late.

Away from the racing action, visitors are guaranteed a packed programme of entertainment, including world-class, A-list musical artists at the after-race concerts, and Oasis areas in all public sections boasting a wide range of exhibitions, challenges and games to keep the whole family amused.

Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Bureau Director at Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, said: This year's F1 weekend is already on track to sell out and we are encouraged that this will result in a higher proportion of international visitors coming to Abu Dhabi. Beyond the circuit, visitors are drawn by the wider global appeal that Abu Dhabi offers as a destination, our incredible attractions and Yas Island's array of luxury hospitality options and leisure facilities.

Shane O'Hare, Etihad Airways Senior Vice President Marketing, said: As title sponsors of the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX since its inauguration in 2009, we are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with Formula 1 and Yas Marina Circuit. Signing the contract extension in 2014 signals our belief and commitment in what has proved an extremely successful partnership.

As this unique event grows, so does Abu Dhabi's global reputation as a world-class hub for the aviation industry. Our extensive airline network offers visitors from across the globe the chance to experience for themselves the prestige and excitement of the UAE's must-see sporting weekend.

Tickets are available online at www.yasmarinacircuit.com and through the Yas Marina Circuit Call Centre (800 927) or +971 (0) 2 659 9800, as well as through all Etihad Shops and Virgin Megastores.
