A course in Sports Facilities Management organized by the Police Sports Association was launched in a hall of the Leader's Qualification Center in Dubai on Sunday. Participants of the course are from the general directorates and departments of the police from participating Gulf countries, in addition to a number of sports officials both within and outside of the UAE.
According to Colonel Arif Ali Obaid Al Raisi, Chief of the Sports Activities Section in the Police Sports Association: “Through the establishment of specialized courses and scheduled annual activities, the association seeks to prepare and qualify sports personnel through a designated sports foundation that focuses on training and equipping personnel with the latest international laws and regulations alongside the most up-to-date information in their athletic fields.”
The course includes scientifically based sessions that include specialized lectures presented by Major Dr. Saud Salem Al Junaibi, Dr. Mohamed Abdul A’theem, Maqbul Daad, and Carlo Nehrua. The objectives of the lectures are to educate participants on the international methods used in managing, planning, and organizing sports facilities, alongside how to take advantage of the health and safety standards in the management of the facilities.
The practical unit provides a multi-level approach regarding the types of amenities and sports facilities and includes information regarding how to plan and organize, how to maintain the safety and security of the facility, how to designate the duties and responsibilities of its management, and how to implement the stages of design, supervision, and follow-up.
The launch of the course was attended by Salem Saeed bin Hazim, Director of the Leader's Qualification Center; Colonel Sultan bin Saeed Al Wada’ani, Secretary General of the Saudi Sports Federation for the Internal Security Forces; and Colonel Saeed Hudairi Al Hamalaan, Secretary General of Kuwaiti Sports Association.
