Based on a true story, this David Lean masterpiece is as compelling today as it was when it was made in 1962. One of the last true blockbusters to be produced, it simply doesn't age. Hard to recall another movie in which the actors have taken on the mantles of their characters so completely and convincingly. Staggeringly good.
