Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Police Sports Association, confirmed that the Association’s Board of Directors has approved the plan for the new sports season 2015/2016, with a set of activities, events, and championships. The plan is part of the work strategy aiming to serve the sports sector and athletes.
Colonel Al Dhaheri stressed that the police sector enjoys a prosperous future, thanks to the diligent support of the police leadership, which will enable it to remain at the forefront of sports and national teams. He also thanked the police leadership for its unlimited support to the Police Sports Association and its keenness to provide all of the resources required to attain success, make further accomplishments and successes and endeavor to reinforce the presence of the UAE police in various sports events locally, regionally and globally. He also praised the unlimited collaboration provided by the national institutions and federations in the country.
Colonel Al Dhaheri congratulated all of the police GHQs and participants in the Police Sports Association’s events and championships on the start of the new sports season. He also stressed the determination to exert further efforts in order to improve the sports sector and contribute to boost the physical readiness and fitness of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members. Moreover, he praised the support and assistance offered by media outlets and media figures in the country during the activities and events held by the Association.
Adding further, Colonel Al Dhaheri said: “The events agenda for this season will see participation from the different Police’s GHQs’ and general directorates, in a wide variety of events, notably the Police swimming championships, road race, athletics, and pistol shooting. Other activities include the Olympic Shooting Championship; the fitness and challenge Championship. There will also be community sporting events such as "the police and the community", in addition to the Ministry of the Interior’s personnel’s sporting events (the sports weeks for security areas); the Ministry of Interior’s events; and the self-defense events for police colleges, academies, centers, and schools at the countrywide level.”.
