The Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department was crowned champion of the Abu Dhabi Police Fitness Challenge Championship. The Western Region Police Directorate came in second place and the Operations Department ranked third.
The championship is a part of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ (GHQ) sports activities program for September 2015, which is organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, with the participation of 52 staff members from 12 ADP departments.
Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, at the Ministry Interior pointed out that the Open Fitness Challenge Championship is one of the most powerful athletic events, which focus on boosting the fitness and skills of police staff members, as they need to be physically fit and healthy in order to carry out the challenging tasks of police work; and to practice sports in general.
In the singles’ competition , Saleh Al Zayoudi from the Operations Department came in first place, followed by Faisal Mohammed from the Western Region Police Directorate and Ahmed Al Ameri from the Operations Department who ranked second and third respectively. Towards the end of the championship, Major Jassem Al Hosani from the Personnel Affairs Department honored the winners of the tournament.
