Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara has announced a partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), offering Emirati students a chance to work in one of the city's most popular five star hotel properties through the Tourism Youth Summer Program. Students will learn about the tourism industry and its significance in promoting Abu Dhabi as a world-class travel destination.
The two-week program will see a group of five Emirati students receive invaluable on the job experience within the hospitality industry, through a formal program offering exposure through hands-on experience and learning across the hotel's key departments including: housekeeping, reservations, front of office and property management.
Speaking about the partnership, Mr Wael Soueid, Area General Manager for Anantara Hotels Resorts & Spas in Abu Dhabi said: It is an absolute pleasure to offer local students the chance to experience on-site training as part of this two-week programme. We hope the experience will be invaluable to them, as we transform traditional classroom learning for our next generation of hospitality professionals into true and genuine on the job experiences.
He continued: “We are heavily invested in staff training, and so we are grateful to have the chance to further our initiatives by tapping into the talents of future hospitality and tourism professionals, with the support of TCA Abu Dhabi, while at the same time supporting emiratisation of the workforce objectives.
The Summer Programme will also inform students about potential careers in the tourism industry and the benefits and career journey offered by Anantara Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East and beyond.
The Tourism Youth Summer Program provides UAE National students with an overview of the services Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority provides to stakeholders, industry partners and members of the public.
At the end of the program, each student will be equipped with knowledge and experience about the different aspects of the hotel and the importance in Abu Dhabi's future.
