More than 10,000 British F1 fans enjoyed the wide array of free hospitality and entertainment at Yas Marina Circuit’s 2015 Abu Dhabi Fan Zone during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone.

Running from the 3rdto 5thJuly, this unique activation at Whittlebury Park Golf and Country Club again provided UK racing fans with a taste of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix experience, and proved to be the most successful to date.

Held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi Fan Zone treated thousands of British race goers to a wide range of free hospitality and interactive entertainment.

During the weekend, more than 3,500 free cups of coffee and 3,500 breakfast pastries were provided to hungry campers on site by YasCafe, as well as 110 free short treatments and massages by YasSPA. In addition to the huge crowds that enjoyed the live mega screen action from Wimbledon and Silverstone on Yas TV, people were also kept up to date with 3,250 copies of on-site newspaper YasTIMES, produced in association with F1 Racing.

It was not only real world entertainment that kept visitors entertained as Yas Marina Circuit engaged them in the virtual realm, with many attendees downloading its smartphone app YasHUB to keep up to date with the latest Grand Prix news, views and information. The weekend also saw huge social media interaction, with the #ADGPFanZone hashtag receiving more than 2.8 million Twitter impressions, and the #AbuDhabiGP hashtag recording more than 3.1 million impressions during the British Grand Prix event.

With Yas Marina Circuit looking to achieve an equal number of overseas visitors attending the 2015 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, the Abu Dhabi Fan Zone plays an important part in showcasing the season finale in the UAE’s capital on November 29th.

Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority welcomed interested fans to its display area, featuring a wide range of authentic cultural experiences from Abu Dhabi, including falconry and traditional henna painting, giving attendees a fascinating insight into one of the world’s most modern, global tourism hubs.

“We are delighted to welcome back the many thousands of UK Formula 1 fans to our Abu Dhabi Fan Zone this year,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.

“The United Kingdom is a very important market for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as around 40 per cent of overseas visitors travel from here. The Abu Dhabi Fan Zone was again a fantastic success, and to see this level of attendance and engagement is testament to the impressive spectacle that Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit offers the international motor racing community. We hope to see even more UK visitors this November at our exciting season finale in Abu Dhabi.”
