Spending nine months at sea battling some of the worst weather conditions that Mother Nature could throw at you would send most people over the edge – literally.
But the competitors in the Volvo Ocean Race are not like most people. They are some of the toughest sportsmen and women on the planet.
The crew of the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing team are not just tough though, they are also the best in their sport after winning the 2014-2015 Volvo Ocean Race.
And leading ADOR to victory was skipper Ian Walker, the two-time Olympic silver medalist and first ever British skipper to win the Volvo Ocean Race.
The 39,000nm journey had its ups and downs for all the team and in his role as skipper Walker would be the go-to guy for support and motivation.
