Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, has met with Pablo Kang, Ambassador of Australia in the UAE, and discussed the latest developments of economic and investment relations and opportunities for future cooperation between the UAE and Australia.
During the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted the achievements of the UAE economy from its development and growth to its ability to absorb large foreign investment projects. Both parties discussed the most prominent indicators of economic trade between the two friendly countries and the latest developments concerning joint agreements.
The Minister stressed the importance of completing negotiations on the signing of an agreement to avoid double taxation on income between the UAE and Australia, due to its central role in promoting economic openness initiatives and increasing investment opportunities, promoting the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries and seeking to create an investment climate to attract government investment and sovereign funds, in addition to encouraging private sector investment in both countries.
The Ambassador of Australia presented a thank you note to Al Tayer from Andrew Robb, Australian Minister for Trade and Investment, who visited the country and met with the UAE Minister last April.
