H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union GWU, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has addressed a speech to mothers and families on the occasion of the upcoming summer holiday, congratulating them on the graduation of their children.

Sheikha Fatima stressed her full support for all that strengthens a cohesive Emirati family to be a real core and essence for a good Emirati community, in words and in deeds, following the approach instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima pointed out that there is a firm belief in the UAE society that the safety of the family is the sure path to the safety of the community. She added that the family has a pivotal role in enabling the whole community to deal in a smart and conscious way with the social and economic changes taking place in the country and the world.

After congratulating mothers and families on the summer holidays, she stressed the need to invest the summer holiday in a good and useful way through exercising useful hobbies and take advantage of modern technology and the correct use of technology.

Sheikha Fatima stressed that what is a matter of pride is that the family in the UAE resembles the state itself as it grows, develops and adheres to the values of Arab and Islamic principles, creating a strong base to preserve the heritage of the country, to be able to communicate with others and to disseminate the principles of tolerance and love that characterise the UAE.

She commended the special care and attention dedicated by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to build human capacity as the core of sustainable development, which enables the UAE to achieve the highest levels on the Human Development Index.
