The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has completed preparations for its 2015 International Iftar Project, which will reach 600,000 disadvantaged people in more than 62 countries around the world.
The campaign is in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Foundation.
An official at the foundation said that the institution is coordinating with various UAE embassies abroad to cooperate on implementing the project, one of the foundation's most important seasonal humanitarian projects which sees thousands of hot meals and packaged food distributed to the disadvantaged during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The spokesperson noted that the project aims to achieve social solidarity between Muslims, adding that the foundation's efforts have been expanding every year since its inception in 2007 and it seeks to improve its humanitarian work through cooperation with strategic partners, global organisations and institutions.
