The Ministry of Finance (MoF) announced its participation at the 2015 Smart Government Exhibition today. The event will be held from June 8-10, and attended by a number of UAE and international government entities and departments.
During the exhibition, MoF will showcase its latest smart device apps.
The smart apps to be unveiled by the Ministry during the exhibition include the new MOF UAE app, which has been developed as an updated version and alternative to the app launched by MoF during its participation in GITEX Technology Week 2013. The Ministry is also set to showcase a newly developed app for the Apple Smart Watch.
Younis Haji Al Khoori, Under-Secretary of MoF highlighted that the Ministry’s participation in the 2015 Smart Government Exhibition reflects its commitment to implementing the smart government initiative launched by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
He added, "Our participation at the exhibition is in line with the Ministry’s strategic vision to establish itself as global leader in financial resource management and contribute to achieving a sustainable competitive environment. This requires direct communication channels that are always accessible to the public. The Ministry is striving to offer its services through smart apps to meet the requirements of the government sector, business sector and citizens."
The smart apps, which are available on the Apple Store and Google Play, offer a range of services to the business sector and individuals, including: supplier registration and renewal on the Federal Register of suppliers, issuing Value Added Tax Certificates and Tax Residence Certificates, reviewing the budget preparation status, transfer requests and accessing data on budget reports and final accounts.
MoF’s Apple Smart Watch app enables users to track their requests for Value Added Tax Certificates and Tax Residence Certificates and access a range of features for services related to gulf economic integration as well as the Ministry’s profile and contact details for specialist departments.
