The homegrown institute for higher education, ALHOSN University, announces the launch of its ALHOSN app today.
The app is in line with the UAE’s commitment towards smart governance, which utilizes technology for better access to information, planning and decision-making and is therefore, the future of public services and greater efficiency and underpins the importance of digital organization and efficiency in the field of education.
The app allows students at the university to access their curriculum, schedule and academic calendar in detail; view their marks; plan their studies and gain access to the latest news and developments. Currently, the app is android compatible; it will soon be released in an iPhone compatible format.
Dr. Adel Khelifi, Provost for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of the software engineering department said: “Today the majority of the youth access information through their mobile devices – be it social media, messaging, podcasts, films, etc. It is therefore very important that when it comes to education, we reach out to them in the medium that is most natural to them. Education must embrace the latest in technology and use it effectively to connect with its students.”
Further to facilitating student’s access and engagement, the app also includes features that will create more awareness and advocacy. A guest page for public viewing will comprise several features including access to the university’s basic information, latest news, events calendar and the ALHOSN newsletter.
