The Police Schools Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters was crowned champion of the Open Women’s Pistol Shooting Championship. The Department of Community Police came in second place and the Capital Police Directorate ranked third. The championship was held at the shooting range at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club, as a part of the sports activities program of the ADP General Headquarters organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, with the participation of 12 departments from the ADP.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General reiterated that excellent and successful police work requires acquiring new knowledge constantly and developing intellectual, cultural and athletic skills. He said: “The police leadership strives to enhance the skills and competencies of both its male and female staff members through various methods and practices, in a bid to promote police performance.
At the singles’ competition, as a part of the Open Pistol Shooting Championship, First Sergeant Moza Khalifa Abdullah from the Emergency and Public Safety Department came in first place with 195 points; First Lieutenant Hanan Mohammed Al Kathiri from the Police Schools Department came in second place with 194 points; and First Lieutenant Nareeman Taleb Al Ajami from the Department of Community Police ranked third with 192 points.
The championship was attended by Captain Jamal Al Saadi, Chief of Sports Activity Section.
