’Saaed’ Takes Part In International Symposium On Traffic Safety For Children In Tunisia
(7 May 2015)

The Saaed Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents is taking part in an international symposium about traffic safety for children that is organized by the Arab Organization for Road Safety in Tunisia from May 8-10. The International Organisation for Road Accident Prevention, World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and other traffic-related Arab associations will be participating in the event.

Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Saaed Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents and Chairman of the Traffic Awareness Committee at the Arab Organization for Road Safety; stressed on the commitment of the Saaed Society to take part in similar international symposiums and conferences. By participating, the Society is able to benefit from the conclusions of the presented scientific papers regarding traffic safety for children and regulations that provide safe transportation for them.

He also noted that the international symposium for child traffic safety in Tunisia coincides with the Third UN Global Road Safety Week, and the Arab Traffic Week held under the slogan “Start with Yourself… Be Committed”. The symposium will witness the release of a declaration of scientific progress on child and traffic safety, which reflects the international interest in fostering the efforts and regulations that ensure traffic safety for children through the provision of safe transportation.

Furthermore, Colonel Al Ameri explained that during the symposium, the Saaed Society will review its experiences in volunteer traffic work; which were brought to fruition thanks to the strategic partnership with the Directorate General of Central Operations in the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and the affiliated departments. The efforts of the Society come as a bid to strengthen child traffic safety by enhancing social communication with drivers. Through interactive awareness initiatives and activities, the Saaed Society endeavors to limit the repercussions that result from exposing children to traffic accidents.
