Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), organizer of the first-ever Eco Smart Home Show, has announced the strong participation of leading government and private sector organisations in the event that will run at Al Ain Convention Centre (AACC) from 7 to 9 May, 2015.

Prominent organisations that have confirmed their participation include Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD), Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA), the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), Sharjah Environment Company (Bee'ah) and Schneider Electric, among other leading players in the energy conservation sector.

Mohammed Salem bin Omair Al Shamsi, Director General of Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) said: "The overwhelming response and keenness of key government agencies as well as specialised local and international companies to participate and showcase their latest innovations and energy-saving solutions in Eco Smart Home Show underlines the significance of this vital industry. The event will offer strong momentum to our ongoing efforts to spread awareness about the importance of energy and water conservation. In encouraging people to rationalize resource consumption and offering them useful tips, we seek to boost Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a platform for promoting sustainable development."

On the other hand, HE Abdulla Al Muaini, Deputy Director General of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology said: “The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology has begun to implement an integrated strategy for the rationalization of energy consumption and raising the efficiency of its consumption in the UAE several years ago. Our efforts, as an entity comes within the framework of the Green Strategy launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.”

His Excellency added: “Through its participation in the "Eco-Smart Home" show, the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology is seeking to introduce participants to the entity’s programmes and future plans with regard to the rationalization of energy consumption.

For his part, Mohammed Helal Albalooshi, Acting Director of Marketing & Communications at QCC said: "Our participation in Eco Smart Home Show 2015 articulates QCC’s ongoing commitment to supporting various environmental causes in collaboration with other public and private sector organisations. Through such engagement, we seek to encourage improved communication and direct interaction with the people of Al Ain, while introducing them to the vision, objectives and services of QCC in promoting quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi.”

He added: “Through our participation in Eco Smart Home Show, we also aim to create awareness about QCC’s Trustmark and encourage consumers to use energy-saving products that carry the Trustmark. Our efforts are designed to safeguard the safety of society, while ensuring the quality and conformity of products traded in the Abu Dhabi market."

Fawziya Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Director, Environmental Awareness Department at the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) said: "As is the case with other GCC countries, the UAE is one of the top consumers of natural resources, especially in energy and water sectors. With the country’s population expected to double by 2030, the demand for energy, water and food is also set to grow at a rapid pace. This pushes us to rethink our individual behaviors and reduce the consumption of our precious resources to an acceptable level.”

“At EAD, we are pleased to support Eco Smart Home Show that aims to significantly contribute to the protection of our environment and natural resources, while highlighting our individual roles in achieving environment sustainability. Our planet is not just for us, but also for future generations to come. Through its sustainable schools initiative, EAD adopts various smart ideas and projects presented by students to rationalize the consumption of water and energy resources and reduce emissions and wastes, whether at home, school or workplace,” Al Mahmoud added.

Aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of using energy efficient household devices, Eco Smart Home Show will showcase a wide range of products and educate visitors on lifestyle changes that can be implemented towards reducing utility bills and achieving long-term benefits from energy conservation and resource preservation.

The event will convene prominent organisations and companies involved in energy conservation on one platform to spotlight the latest technological innovations and advanced systems.
