The Personnel Department has won the Human Resources Director General’s Shield at the Abu Dhabi Police in the second Human Resources Director General’s Shield Championship that concluded recently at thet the Police Staff Club.
Brigadier General Obaid Salem Belhubalah Al Ketbi, Director General of Human Resources at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ attended the closing ceremony of the Six-a-side Football Tournament finals and honored the teams and individuals winners of the following championships: Six-a-side Football Tournament, Pistol Shooting Tournament, Fitness Challenge Tournament, Road Race Tournament, and a Race Walking Tournament for members over the age of 40. The ceremony was also attended by a number of officers, individuals and police staff members who are football supporters.
It is noteworthy that the Human Resources Director General’s Shield Championship is part of the sports program organized by the Sports Activity Section at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Brigadier General Obaid Salem Belhubalah Al Ketbi, Director General of Human Resources at the Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the importance of sports and physical activity amongst police members: “Sports activity develops the athletic abilities and physical, psychological, and mental health of our police officers. It also contributes to boosting police staff members’ levels of job performance, while also promoting their competiveness in sports and brotherly ties,” he said.
Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, pointed out that organizing sports tournaments between Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s departments effectively contributes to building police staff members’ character. He continued: “Sports activities also have a significant role in promoting self-confidence and reinforcing the principle of fair competition among all of Abu Dhabi Police staff members.”
The Six-a-side Football Tournament saw the participation of eight departments affiliated with the Human Resources Directorate General. In the final tournament, the Personnel Department’s team ranked first after defeating the Director General’s office Department’s team 3/2. The Director General’s Ofiice team ranked second, and the Planning Department’s team came in third place. Player Ali Al Riyami from the Education Department was crowned MVP of the Tournament.
During the closing ceremony, Brigadier General Al Ketbi honored the officers and constables of the organizing committee, the referees of the Six-a-side Football Tournament, as well as the departments and individuals winners of the Pistol Shooting Tournament, the Fitness Challenge Tournament, the Road Race Tournament, and the Race Walking Tournament for members over the age of 40.
