Traffic Awareness Lectures And Activities In Al Ain

The Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, recently organized traffic lectures and activities at the Department of Bus Transportation in Al Ain. The Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section additionally organized an open day for traffic awareness at the Al Jahli Park in coordination with the Community Services Department at the downtown Municipality.

The program comes within the framework of the social communication strategy and the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) to make the roads safer, to enhance traffic safety; and to reduce the causes of traffic accidents and subsequent deaths and serious injuries that follow these accidents. 

Captain Hamdan Hassan bin Thiban, Public Relations Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic Section, stressed the Directorate’s keenness to communicate with various entities and categories of drivers through the traffic awareness plan. In a bid to raise the level of traffic culture amongst all drivers, the campaign is implemented in both Arabic and Urdu.

Moreover, Captain bin Thiban highlighted the participation of the “Tathqeef” traffic patrol in various activities throughout Al Ain. The mobile “Tathqeef” traffic patrol distributes awareness booklets and gifts, mostly for the younger attendees, and responds to any inquiries that the public may have. The patrol is additionally equipped with a display screen to show purposeful traffic awareness films.

He stressed the keenness of the Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section, represented by the Public Relations Branch, to communicate with the community and participate in various events. The Section relentlessly strives to enhance communication with partners and the public in order to achieve the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ which aims to make the roads safer; and in order to pursue the Traffic and Patrols Directorate’s strategy which aims to improve the level of traffic safety.
