Yas Events Centre has announced that its iconic Shams Tower – the region’s only environmentally sustainable, VVIP-standard meeting space – is now accepting corporate bookings.
Designed for the ruling family of the UAE as a private viewing platform at the heart of the iconic FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX circuit, Shams Tower was completed in 2009 for the inaugural race and offers one of the most unique and exclusive MICE space for hire in the Middle East.
The exclusive, yet ‘green’ venue rises 60 metres above the track offering a range of configuration options accommodating up to 100 guests, making it ideal for more intimate board meetings as well as larger, more inclusive gatherings.
‘Shams’ means ‘Sun’ in English and is aptly named. Its 2,500m2 array of solar panels produces 450MW/h of electricity per year and connection to the Abu Dhabi Municipal grid ensures that all of the solar power produced is utilised fully. The latest green technology offers a saving of 400 tonnes of CO2 emmisions per annum, with the solar array ‘wings’ providing shaded parking underneath, allowing for use all year round.
In addition to the exclusivity of Shams Tower, and still at the heart of the track on top of the pit building, the prestigious Paddock Club offers spectacular circuit views for those looking to add the ‘wow factor’ to any corporate gathering.
Recently renovated due to increased demand for the 2014 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX product, the Paddock Club expansion added an extra 2,000m2 and can now offer 12 suites in a range of configurations to a maximum of 480 guests per suite. The work means that Yas Events Centre at Yas Marina Circuit now boasts a total of 34,000m2 of multi-purpose, indoor venues so can offer complete turnkey solutions to local, regional and global blue-chip companies alike.
