Jumeirah at Etihad Towers hit cinema screens around the world on 3 April 2015 as part of the new Hollywood action film FAST & FURIOUS 7. Film lovers can see a spectacular high-octane chase scene featuring the landmark towers, in which one of the super cars speeds out of one tower and lands in the middle of a cocktail reception in another.

The filming took place over three months in 2014 and guests staying at the hotel were able to catch a glimpse of the action from the Observation Deck at 300. This is the highest vantage point in Abu Dhabi and provided the perfect place to watch the helicopters filming around the towers.

A VIP delegation from Abu Dhabi attended the premiere on 1 April 2015 at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. His Highness Sheikh Suroor Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, owner of Etihad Towers said: “We are happy that Abu Dhabi is a key location for FAST & FURIOUS 7. So much action centered around Etihad Towers and its five-star Jumeirah hotel, apartments, offices and luxury boutiques. We hope that the film inspires people to come and experience Abu Dhabi. Please know that our friend Vin Diesel won’t be doing
the valet parking, he’s family!”

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, General Manager, Stefan Fuchs, said: “It was an exceptional experience to host the crew during the filming, the hotel became their second home throughout the three months and we made sure they felt welcome and well taken care of. My colleagues and I are very proud to be working at one of the landmarks that represent the emirate in the movie and hope its worldwide screening will stimulate people’s curiosity to visit Abu Dhabi and experience its outstanding leisure and cultural offerings. ”

FAST & FURIOUS 7 has an all-star cast including Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Paul Walker. The film pays tribute to Walker, who tragically passed away in a fatal car accident. The trailer was released during the US Super Bowl, one of the most viewed TV events in the world with an audience of over 150 million viewers.
