This weekend will see the exciting last-gasp battles for supremacy in the fourth and final round of Yas Marina Circuit’s Yas Racing Series.
Marking the end of Yas Marina Circuit’s busy racing season, this round’s highlights include the return of the exciting and dynamic production-based sports car series UAE Time Attack as drivers compete for the fastest lap, along with modified racing thrills in the Middle East Radical Cup.
Additionally, on 10thApril, Round 5 and 6 of the TRD 86 Cup will deliver a spectacular ending to what has been a fantastically competitive series so far. The championship is wide open at the moment and with drivers so closely positioned in the current standings the stage is set for a pulse-racing finale.
Since the first round in December, the UAE-based drivers have gone bumper to bumper in a bid for the top spot on the leaderboard. Currently, at the top of the driver’s table, Karim Al Azhari is leading with 160 points, with Ahmed Al Melahi in second on 122 points, and Sam Taheri and Tom Verkooien nipping at their heels on 114 and 88 points respectively.
Following closely behind, Shihab Al Fahim has 78 points, then Shibin Yousef on 68 points, Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar 54 points, Edy Saaiby on 52 points, and Abdullah Ali Al Khefali on 50 points. With 20 points for first place, two straight wins from any of these drivers could provide a last-minute upset in the battle for second and third.
For those wishing to attend the thrilling races, tickets for Friday’s Yas Racing Series grand finale at Yas Marina Circuit are available for only AED 25, with the added value of a wide range of off-track entertainment for all ages to enjoy along with access to the garages and a chance to meet with the drivers.
