Students from 46 public and private schools in Abu Dhabi were named winners in Abu Dhabi Education Council’s first student research competition.
Open to various grades, the competition was launched last year to promote scientific inquiry and promote research among students.
The competition was free from most of the restraints and conditions of the systematic research, in order to encourage the largest number of students to take part in it.
Of the 718 research papers that were submitted from students representing more than 68 Abu Dhabi public and private schools, 109 were winners.
A new edition of the competition will be announced within a few weeks.
“In order to elevate the standards of research in UAE, we seek to promote the research culture in society, especially our younger generations,” said Amal Al Qubaisi, Adec’s director general.
